My name is Brittany Schacht, and I am an alumnus of James Madison University. I completed my degree at JMU in May 2016 and graduated as a dual major in Hospitality Management and Media Arts & Design, as well as a double minor in Creative Writing and Business Management. The question I was constantly asked is what am I going to do with my two majors? My answer is the same to this day, I want to work in a social fast paced setting if not planning events. COVID has given me the opportunity of merging the two majors as we transformed from an in-person world to a virtual world.  I want to take my love for event management, food, customer service, creativity, and fast-paced work environments and turn it into a career. What I love is taking a simple concept or idea and turning it into something amazing—an experience that guests will remember long after.

 

I’m extremely outgoing and personable. I love to work, and I make sure that I bring energy and enthusiasm wherever I go. Whether it be working at the winery as the Assistant Tasting Room Manager, being the events assistant at Blogger Bash or producing events through Markham and Hargrove, I am always there with a smile and ready to solve any obstacle, big or small, that comes my way. 

 

I loved my college experience in Harrisonburg, Virginia and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. However, once I completed my victory lap as a JMU student I was ready to make it back to a city. A week after graduation I made a move to DC and have been here since.
