Grace Estate Winery

Since April 2015 I’ve been working at Grace Estate Winery and was shortly promoted to Assistant Tasting Room Manager. I’ve had an amazing experience working here at the winery and loved every moment of it. I’ve not only been able to teach guests about wine, but train and teach new employees as well. 

Blogger Bash, Sweet Suite Event

August 2012 was my first time working the Sweet Suite Event, which originally began as an event following an even larger convention, BlogHer. Over the past five years I’ve been so grateful to not only watch but also be a part of an event that branched from a small event occurring the same week of BlogHer, to becoming its own (even larger) two-day event now known as Blogger Bash.

Aramark, JMU Dining Services

I was given the opportunity to spend a semester, February 2014-May 2014, working at JMU Dining Services. This was a great learning experience because of how different an in-home third party vendor runs its resources verses restaurants or a caterer. Working for Aramark everything had to be done quickly and effectively. As an employer you are cooking for thousands of students and not only do all of them need to be fed, but you must also uphold high sanitary and safety standards because thousands of them can become sick if just one dish in the buffet station is not at its highest value to serve.
