Hargrove inc.

Shortly after graduating James Madison University I made the next stop in my journey Washington, DC. Here is where I landed an amazing opportunity at a company called Hargrove Inc. Throughout my college experience i was solely taught that an event planner is one who works on parties and weddings. I quickly learned that there is a whole other world of events that most people don't know of. Working in this side of the world is what I typically call Event Production.

I’ve always had trouble explaining my line of work. There are so many moving pieces that go into an event and it doesn't end with my company. I look at us as the designers and producers of an event. Hargrove has taught me the literal idea of working an event from the ground up. It starts at the smallest piece which is actually the most important. The selling of an event and what it is that we are selling. Using the client's budget to design something incredible regardless of the price. The designer creates something, a show is sold, and then my job as an Account Manager begins. I am the client contact and the middle man for every department in my office. I work on writing the shows, submitting the correct paperwork to get items produced ( signs made, new items built, inventory items pulled and refurbished), and I complete any logistics with the venue. Once my job in the office is complete and the show is written, I’m onsite making sure everything is going smoothly, the clients happy, and any obstacles we face I solve.

Onsite has given me a lot of experience with handling stress and getting creative when there are problems. I have worked with a wide range of clientele and I work with people of all ages. Many of my coworkers are older than me and have been in the industry much longer, some are very new and I am now the one to train them.

Hargrove inc works in all types of events. My experience ranges from the special events and tradeshows. Some of my shows include: the National Walk for Epilepsy, Credit Union Cherry Blossom Run Expo, Craft2Wear, the Smithsonian Craft Show, the New FBI Director Swearing in Ceremony, Trump’s Inaugural Balls, the Philadelphia Auto Show, GEAPS and many others as well as many more to come.
